Event Description: The Safety Recognition Awards highlight the efforts of individuals in our Department who work to improve the health and safety for themselves and other in the workplace. Other events include Fire Extinguisher training, training through WSCC and hosting a web conference featuring a workplace safety video.

Event Description: In partnership with our Workers' Safety & Compensation System employee-based safety events, the Federation hosts a barbeque and serves more than 500 free hotdogs, chips and juice to participants and the general public.

Safety Street

Hosting Organization: Workers' Safety & Compensation Commission of the NWT & Nunavut

Event Description: We have a new street in the NWT & Nunavut - Safety Street. It's a virtual street in the NWT & Nunavut with community services, private & public, represented as houses on a street. We're launching Safety Street on May 7 beside the YK City Hall, and have lots of events, including a corporate and community challenge, pictures with Safe T. Sam (life sized cutout), and a barbeque. We have radio contests happening all week in both Yellowknife & Iqaluit, as well as a safety game show in Iqaluit on May 7.
