Time: 9:00 AM Event Location & Address: 226 Reeves Street Hosting Organization: Nova Scotia Community College - Strait Area Campus Event Description: We combine a number of things in one event. We do a flag raising ceremony with guest speakers including political representatives, then hand out certificates to all the OHS committee. We follow up with a healthy breakfast and lots of prizes. We also have a display table set up with OHS and themed items. We also do a fun quiz asking all types of questions about OHS and NAOSH for prizes. NAOSH Week Safety Display & BBQ |

Time: 10:30 AM Event Location & Address: Parkdale, New Glasgow Hosting Organization: Town of New Glasgow Event Description: We have a full week of events planned with the final event on Friday, May 7th being geared toward our youth entering the workforce. We will have our Public Works, Fire & Police Equipment on display with dedicated employees demonstrating proper safe work practices. Our local grade nine classes will be attending at 10:30 am. There will also be information tables and healthy snacks in the morning and the students will be presented with a NAOSH bracelet. We will also be hosting the high school OPP Class (learning a trade) at noon time and will be providing a BBQ - this will also be open to the general public or any other high school students that which to participate, as the high school is near the Parkdale track the students will be walking by on their lunch hour. The other events for the week include: May 3 Flag Raising & Proclamation Signing, May 4 Lunch & Learn for Employees - Speaker Al White - Safety Services, May 5 Safety BBQ & display across from Fire Department & Library with radio remote, May 6 Lunch & Learn for Employees - Speakers from local Health Authority on Nutrition (organized by our Wellness Committee).
