NAOSH Week Launch Events 2011

CSSE President Peter Sturm hosted the Canadian launch of NAOSH Week 2011 in Fort McMurray, Alberta on Monday May 2, 2011. More than 200 people gathered at the MacDonald Island Park facility to officially "kick-off" NAOSH Week with a program that included keynote speaker, former CFL superstar Henry "Gizmo" Williams. On the same day, in Washington, DC, Andrew Cooper, CSSE Vice-President & Treasurer attended the official launch ceremony of NAOSH Week in the United States. He joined ASSE President Daryl Hill, along with officials from the Occupational Safety & Health Administration and their alliance partners for a morning program of “Celebrating a Century of Safety”. The event in Washington included a reception at the US Capital Building to recognize the winners in the ASSE’s children’s poster contest and their families.
