Actavis NJ/ASA Childrens' Poster Contest

Event Description: Actavis Inc. is hosting Actavis, NJ/ASA Children’s Poster Contest During this event participants will be children, grandchildren, and family members sixteen years old and younger of Actavis employees (New Jersey/ASA Sites) will submit the 8.5" x 11" landscape poster drawings. The artwork must be based on any Safety or Health topic that is appropriate for home, work, school, or leisure activities. Submittal Deadline is April 19, 2010. There are 4 age group categories for entry. Age Categories: (upper range not inclusive) 3 to 6 6 to 10 10 to 13 13 to 16 The EHS Executive Steering Committee for NJ will judge the entries to choose three winners from each age category on April 21, 2010 meeting at 3:00 pm. Copies of the all the entries will be posted throughout the facility(s) during the NAOSH Week and the winning entries will be posted at reception area of each site. Actavis also prepares a Safety Calendar and the three winning entries in each category will be included in the caledar for year 2011 with picture of the artist.

Take a Stand Day

Hosting Organization: Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA)

Event Description: The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) is holding a “Take a Stand Day” on May 5, 2010. Employers throughout Michigan have been invited to participate in a NO CITATION, NO PENALTY inspection on this day. All MIOSHA staff, both consultation and compliance staff, will be in the field offering free consultation. We moved the date of our annual Take a Stand Day to help promote NAOSH Week. Last year we received 280 requests from employers to participate.
